Project Story:
Inspired by Walkerville’s sense of community and inclusivity, its historical vernacular, and the opportunity for revival and evolution.
The town of Walkerville’s new civic facility, set alongside the existing heritage Town Hall building, comprises a public library, meeting rooms, community gallery, Council chambers, and administration.
Similar to the town itself, the new Civic & Community Centre has developed its own unique personality – daring and rich in detail and texture. The Walkerville Civic & Community Centre connects with, and underpins the strong character and cultural significance of the existing Town Hall. The completed project provides the Council, together with the local community, with an inspiring place to build on its past and solid foundation upon which to develop into the future.
