Born in 1973, in Ringsted, Denmark, Brian Rasmussen graduated from the Royal Academy of Architecture in Copenhagen in 2000.

Rasmussen then relocated to Venice in 2002 to found his architectural and design practice in the Venice’s capital.

In 2003, Rasmussen began a research project which focused on the point where Roman baroque and Nordic classicism meet.

His findings became the theoretical and morphological basis for an number of his subsequent projects.

In 2004, he won the “Targetti Light Art Awards" international art competition, a springboard for his career as a lighting designer. Between 2004 and 2006, he designed and developed a lamp for the city of Ringsted in Denmark, in collaboration with Louis Poulsen Lighting.

In 2006, he won a design competition with two new designs for EviStyle.

In 2011, he became art director of LIGHT4 and he has worked with companies such as Modo, Casamania, Studio Italia Design, Martinelli Luce, Voltolina, Morosini, Evistyle, Light4, Lucente, Zeroombra and Karboxx.
